Take 5

by Joey on June 29, 2007

I’ve been back on set since yesterday as Key Grip. I finally have a job that doesn’t require a week of preparation or filing out paperwork an hour after the day is wrapped. The only problem is gripping can be physically demanding and does leave one tired at the end of the day, so I’ll end this short post with an on-set story.

Yesterday, the Martini shot1 had an elderly actor having dinner comically freeze up and fall face first into a plate of spaghetti, dead. We did a few takes but he would slightly restrain himself before he hit the plate. Finally, with Take 5, he let himself go so much he did what all those passing to the afterlife do – pass some gas. Now that’s method acting.
