A few hours ago (3pm) I got a phone call from Keith, head of the Equipment Room.
Keith: “I need the camera back.”
Me: “Today?”
Keith: “Yeah, by four. No, like a quarter to four, I have to do some paperwork with it. If I don’t get it back today I have to file a police report.”
Me: “Okay, I’ll drop it off.”
And I did, thus parting with the documentary Canon XL1. That’s a pretty common ER miscommunication story. We were supposed to return the equipment a month ago, but I had requested to keep it longer and they said it was fine. No return date was set, or at least one that I knew of. And so I escape arrest one more time.

If you haven’t almost been arrested, then you are not a filmmaker. Good for you.
