One of the main producing responsibilities is casting. The upcoming film I’m Unit Production Manager on (let’s call it Bush Zombie) has an epic battle scene where we need as many zombies as possible. Getting extras to show up can sometimes be a challenge. People might commit but not show up, or show up after the scene is over.
We have an Actor Database Facebook group that we can email, but it’s really a luck of the draw. This time we’re trying the poster method. Above is a copy of what we’ve plastered around campus. We don’t need trained thespians to act like the walking dead. The idea is some bored college students will see the fliers and think it’ll be a fun experience. We’ll see how this tactic works out.

We recently posted a listing on craigslist.org for actors and got a ton of response. A poster like this seems like it might work pretty well, too!
That’s not a bad idea. So far I haven’t gotten any responses. It might be too much to ask someone to remember the date and email and then go online and ask for more information. If I don’t hear anything in a few days Craigslist (or Facebook) might be Plan B.
