More Bits of Interestingness

There’s been a lot of talk about the RED camera, and I’ve been kind of skeptical of it, but this sample clip from a film shot by Peter Jackson looks pretty amazing (via FreshDV). Supposedly the Film School is supposed to be ordering some, but I’m sure by the time that happens I’ll have graduated.

Keeping with the Film School theme, apparently there’s a Student Film Drinking Game for all those great student film cliches. This reminds me of D.U.M.P.S. (Directing Unsuccessful Motion Picture Shorts).

The Visual Effects Society came out with the 50 Most Influential Visual Effects Films of All Time. The Film School’s VFX teacher won an Academy Award for one of the film’s on the list, so kudos to him.

And two very different, but very good commercials to celebrate originality. Guinness Evolution and Bill Richardson’s campaign ads.
